INSPIRATION IS EVERYWHERE!
For a truly personal cake, I naturally incorporate the colours, textures, shapes and, of course, flavours
that you like. When I design a cake for you, whether you chose an
ultra modern, funky or classic style (or a mixture of all three) your cake
will tell the story you chose.
So, when you come for a consultation, bring with you things that are part of the
story: a piece of your bridal dress fabric, a sporting trophy, your
grandmother’s necklace or a picture of Dad’s old MG, Personal things help to build a picture and from that picture,
together, we can create a unique cake.
I can accommodate most budgets but it is important to remember that many complex cakes can be 25
plus hours of work and even the simplest cake will still be 5 to10 hours work from start to finish.
And, of course, quality ingredients will always be worth more.
Consultations and Tasting
Initial discussions about a cake are typically held over phone or
via email. During this discussion we can determine the need for consultation. Note: All consultations are by appointment only. A tasting, for which there is a small fee, may be included.

DESIGN CONSIDERATIONS
Generally cakes are only limited by your imagination and my ability to keep them standing up! But there are some things to consider when designing your cake:
- Cake size
- The number of guests, cake type and portion size determine the size of the cake.
- The size of the cake will influence the cake design.
For example, a 5 tier Wedding Cake for 30 people, is simply too much cake for too few people.
- Sculpted cakes
- Sculpted cakes are restricted to the firmer style cakes.
- Temperature and location
- If you are having your occasion outside and/or it
is in the warmer months of the year, certain cake fillings are not
suitable. In particular Italian butter creams.
Because I do not use a artificial butter cream, this will need to be taken into consideration when designing a cake in the summer months.
